Job Details
Job Title: Materials Manager (SupplyChain)
Location: Chicago, IL (On-site role)
Duration: 12 Months
Job Description:
- In this role, you will work directly with Genpact s client to drive key supply chain planning operational metrics.
- As the headquarter materials Manager you will be responsible for ensuring materials and contract volumes are always available at the network level for our manufacturing sites to order for production.
- Indirectly managing material planning teams at the manufacturing level, cross functional project teams, and our network of vendors. You will be responsible for Work capital.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for building, analyzing, and distributing Raw and Pack material forecasts for accurate capacity planning.
- Develop network level long range replenishment strategies for assigned packaging materials while optimizing the balance between supply availability and inventory investment.
- Participate in cross functional project teams to support the execution of new product innovations and productivity by developing and managing network transition plan and on-time materials availability while minimizing costs.
- Support inventory reduction initiatives entailing optimization of SAP MRP parameters, total supply chain process improvement, and application of lean principles.
- Lead financial forecasting and mitigation of supply chain losses related to RPW inventory through internal transfers, shelf-life extensions, liquidations, alternate uses, and supplier buybacks and/or supplier recycling program.
- Support S&OE with day to day supply disruptions through rapid & efficient solutions while identifying root causes & implementing corrective actions.
- Analyze and drive efficiencies on projected volumes, capacity, business strategies, supplier performance, and contractual needs that best serve the business needs by balancing service and cost.
- Develop long range supplier capacity plans and contingency plans to maintain supply continuity.
- Ensure material network availability for internal manufacturing production plans by supporting and directing finite scheduling teams through in class material planning routines.
- Identify and execute continuous improvement/lean six sigma projects
- Maintain a habit of continuous learning and development through the company s educational portal.
Minimum qualifications:
- Good understanding of supply chain cycle, Manufacturing, organization structures and key metrics.
- Demonstrates problem solving skills and working under tight timelines; multi-tasking abilities; exception-based management capability.
- Ability to balance priorities across multiple internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to interact and build relations with senior management and key stakeholders.
- Superb analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work in a multicultural environment.
- Bachelor's degree in related fields (Supply Chain Management, Operations, Business, Engineering, or related discipline)
- SAP or other ERP/APS software experience and proven knowledge of Microsoft Office suite required.
- Has good understanding of supply chain and demand planning business drivers, organization structures and key metrics.
- Strong team skills - Collaborative management and working style.
- Effective Communication skills
- Should possess high degree of versatility, good interpersonal skills, and excellent time management skills; should be a team player.
Preferred qualifications:
- 4 Years minimum of applicable experience
- Proficient in Excel
- Working Knowledge with Power BI and Tableau
- Understanding of 09 and OMP
- Proficient with SAP
- Project Management experience
- 10% travel required to vendors and manufacturing facilities
