Apex Systems is looking to hire a Civil Engineer Associate for a top Utility Client.

Civil Engineer Associate
Location: Roanoke, Virginia--hybrid
Position Summary:
Provide civil engineering support for Transmission Line Engineering department
Utilize PLS-CADD software to design and analyze transmission lines according to industry and company standards
Develop functional and detailed scoping documents for estimating purposes
Order material for construction.
Create construction drawing packages
Attend project and team meetings
Perform site visits as needed
Competence in the use of computer software PLS-CADD
Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office software
Proper document archiving at project closeout.
Minimum Requirements:
This is an entry level position for new graduates with a Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering in a program accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Commission of the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET).
Hours: 40 hour work week. Flex time is allowed, can be five 8-hour days, four 9-hour days and one 4-hour day, or four 10 hour days. OT is possible but not often, would depend on project deadlines. Travel is 15%. This includes travelling to visit project sites under construction, or team meetings that may be also on site or at other offices. Depending on location it could be renting a car and driving or flying. These can be over night, usually for a night or two depending on the situation. Prefers Local candidates
