Job Details

Project Manager
Work Location: Onsite in Washington, DC

Key Responsibilities:

Project Management:

  • Create/maintain/execute IT project plans with tasks, milestones, status, and resource allocation
  • Coordinate designers, engineers, QA, SMEs, vendors, clients for milestone delivery
  • Manage day-to-day operations, detailed plans, milestone reports, issues/risks/concerns
  • Oversee development/production releases meeting QA standards
  • Assist technical team with design/development tasks and QA with test plans
  • Review team deliverables before client handoff
  • Apply/enforce project management methodology and standards

Communication:

  • Excellent written/oral skills; facilitate team/client meetings
  • Keep stakeholders informed of status, issues, mitigation strategies
  • Resolve/escalate issues timely; communicate relevant info to superiors

Technical:

  • General understanding of application programming, database/system design
  • Knowledge of Internet/Intranet/Extranet/client-server architectures
  • Analyze system requirements vs. base software functionality
  • Write software requirements from client needs analysis
  • MS SQL Server and query knowledge

Leadership/Teamwork:

  • Inspire team excellence; manage innovative change
  • Acknowledge contributions; work with technical/non-technical state/local clients
  • Coordinate training; deliver webinar updates
  • Team player across time zones/geography with BA/development/QA teams

Client Management:

  • Monitor incidents/change requests; answer client questions (online/email/phone)
  • Manage daily client interaction; obtain/follow-through on feedback
  • Set/manage expectations; increase satisfaction/deepen relationships
  • Build knowledge base of client organization/objectives

Required Knowledge/Skills:

  • MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Project) proficiency
  • Relational databases/basic SQL queries
  • Workforce development/unemployment compensation experience
  • Knowledge of DOL Employment/Training programs (Wagner-Peyser, Workforce Investment Act, Trade Adjustment Assistance)
  • Understanding of Employment/Training operations/federal reporting
  • Prepare presentations/conduct User's Conference training
  • SDLC knowledge
  • Bachelor's in business/related field (or equivalent experience)
  • PMP, SCM, CAPM, or formal PM training
