RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client that is looking for Senior Software Engineer able to code in both Java and Cobol in the Houston/Dallas, TX area.
Summary:
You will join a team that is rewriting a payments system that was originally written in Cobol into Java. This position requires a senior level resource capable of working independently in a complex enterprise environment.
REQUIREMENTS:
* Minimum 9 years of technical experience in software development or related field
* Minimum 5 years of Java coding/development in a complex enterprise environment
* Minimum 5 years of COBOL coding/development in a z/OS mainframe environment
* Visa sponsorship is not available for this position
Converting Codebase from Cobol to Java:
* Would like equal strength in Java and Cobol, but must be strong in Java for certain with solid Cobol experience
* EFT (Electronic Funds Transfer) domain experience is very nice
* Senior/Staff is someone who will work independently, ramp quickly; Had domain experience (EFT)
Desired Skills:
* Bachelor's degree in Software Development or a related field preferred but not required
* Programming/software engineering related certifications a plus and/or an active desire to pursue such certifications
* Experience with Azure
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
