In this position, our team presents the opportunity to build software tools and solutions in collaboration with multiple teams including user study and data collection managers, machine learning and data scientists, and cloud infrastructure teams, to push the state of the art in AR algorithms that will change the way people experience the world! We are looking for a driven Software Engineer, who enjoys design and development of software solutions at scale. Description You'll be working in a team of data engineers to design and develop solutions that enable world class algorithms. You will be working on solutions to data collection and management problems of volume, variety and velocity. Your goal is to raise the quality and productivity of the team as a whole by building services and solutions that allow everyone to work faster.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain code for moderated data collections to automate data capture, in-field processing and validation, and export and ingestion
  • Design and contribute to CI/CD deployment of software bundles and tools
  • Contribute to existing backend service codebase to support and optimize integration with capture systems
  • Interface with study managers and data consumers to triage and design reusable as well as bespoke software solutions based on their needs
  • Design solutions and features that balance multiple data consumers' needs
  • Participate in design reviews with peers and stakeholders to ensure correct solution is picked
  • Review code with peers to provide and get feedback on implemented solution
  • Coordinate and work closely with team members and other engineering teams

Minimum Qualifications
  • B.S. and 3+ years of hands-on software development experience; or 5+ years of industry experience in software development field
  • Strong Object Oriented Programming skills and proficiency in Python
  • Understanding of CI/CD and DevOps methodologies, and version control (Git)
  • Experience designing technical solutions for complex systems
  • High level of expertise with full stack development, and Web development frameworks (e.g. Django)
  • Experience designing scalable data systems or cloud services using modern tools and languages.
  • Experience with micro-service architecture & developing APIs / RESTful services
  • Experience with relational and any NoSQL databases (e.g. MongoDB, Cassandra, etc.)

Preferred Qualifications
  • Able to quickly learn new and existing technologies
  • Experience designing technical solutions for complex systems, specifically for large scale data collections
  • Familiarity with distributed systems
  • UI/UX development experience
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Excellent problem solving and analytical thinking skills

Pay & Benefits At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $147,400 and $272,100, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
