You will be a Cyber Software Engineer for a research and development team which is responsible for investigating and exploiting the newest technological advances to resolve complex problems.

Work Schedule Information

Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $97,100 - $171,235. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer. Benefits offered: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Short-Term Disability, Long-Term Disability, 401(k) match, Flexible Spending Accounts, EAP, Education Assistance, Parental Leave, Paid time off, and Holidays. Basic Qualifications
- Active TS clearance with SCI elegability required prior to start.
- Hands-on experience with at least one of the following AI/ML frameworks:
TensorFlow, PyTorch, JAX, ONNX, Scikit-learn - Experience building or deploying a local AI stack such as:
Ollama, LocalAI, LangChain, or comparable open-source frameworks - Fluent in two or more programming languages, e.g.:
C/C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, Python, Ruby - Expertise with one or more operating systems:
Linux, Unix, macOS, Windows, Android, iOS - Hands-on experience using configuration-management tools such as:
Git, SVN, TFS, Mercurial - Formal education or professional experience in a relevant field:
Cybersecurity, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline
Desired skills
- Demonstrated experience integrating AI/ML models (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, ONNX, LangChain) into production-grade applications.
- Strong team orientation - ability to collaborate across cyber, data-science, and hardware groups and quickly assimilate new concepts.
- Excellent written and verbal communication; capable of translating complex AI techniques to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Passion for exploring emerging technologies such as generative AI, foundation models, and edge-AI runtimes.

- Development of custom hardware or FPGA/ASIC prototypes that accelerate AI workloads.
- Hands-on exploit analysis and development of AI-assisted red-team tooling.
- Work with wireless and RF technologies (e.g., 5G, BLE, SDR).
- Creating mobile applications (Android/iOS) that embed on-device inference engines.
- Building containerized AI pipelines (Docker, Kubernetes, OCI) for scalable deployment.
- Utilizing cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform)
- Implementing automated testing frameworks for AI models (unit, integration, adversarial testing).
- Establishing CI/CD (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps) with model versioning and rollout automation.
- Rapid prototyping using simulation tools, hardware-in-the-loop, and low-code AI platforms.
- Deep knowledge of IP networking and secure communications for AI-enabled edge devices.
