Job Title: Technical Writer Financial Services / Banking Domain (Remote)
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Technical Writer with a strong background in financial services or banking to create, manage, and enhance digital documentation for our products and internal systems.
The ideal candidate will be highly skilled in Confluence (primary platform), with proficiency in digital content editing, process visualization, and information design using tools like Visio and Lucidchart.
In this role, you ll collaborate with product managers, business analysts, and technology teams to deliver accurate, compliant, and user-friendly documentation supporting our digital banking and financial solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Documentation Development & Management
- Create, edit, and maintain high-quality product documentation, operational guides, and technical content in Confluence.
- Develop structured templates, style guides, and taxonomies to ensure consistency across banking product lines.
- Manage documentation lifecycle from initial drafting to version control, reviews, approvals, and publishing.
- Financial Domain Expertise
- Understand and document complex financial workflows such as retail and corporate banking processes, payments, lending, KYC/AML compliance, and regulatory reporting.
- Translate product features and financial terminology into clear, concise, and accurate documentation for end users and internal stakeholders.
- Ensure documentation adheres to compliance and data security standards (e.g., SOX, Basel III, PCI DSS).
- Visual & Process Documentation
- Create process flow diagrams, data maps, and system interaction visuals using Visio or Lucidchart.
- Support cross-functional teams by illustrating end-to-end business processes and system dependencies.
- Collaboration & Continuous Improvement
- Partner with Product Managers, Business Analysts, Compliance, and Engineering teams to gather and verify content.
- Conduct content reviews to ensure alignment with organizational goals, product updates, and regulatory requirements.
- Champion documentation best practices, user experience, and clarity across teams.
Qualifications
Education:
- Bachelor s degree in Finance, Business, Technical Communication, Information Design, Computer Science, or a related field.
Experience:
- 4 8 years of experience as a Technical Writer within the financial services or banking industry.
- Proven expertise in Confluence as a primary documentation and content management tool.
- Proficiency with Visio and/or Lucidchart for visual and process documentation.
- Strong command of English, with excellent writing, editing, and structuring skills.
- Understanding of financial products, digital banking platforms, and regulatory environments.
- Familiarity with Agile and Scrum methodologies.
