RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has an enterprise client that is seeking a Systems Engineer II in Redmond, WA.
Summary:
The client is looking for a Test Systems Engineer to join the Kuiper Production Operations team. As the company scales its satellite manufacturing, we are seeking a hands-on, cross-functional Product Engineer to help us sustain high production yields, reduce defects, and optimize test processes across both sub-assembly and vehicle-level assemblies. In this role, you will be part of the Product Engineering (PE) team responsible for data collection, processing and diagnosing test failures, driving root cause resolution, and collaborating with Test, Design, Manufacturing, and Quality Engineering to implement sustainable improvements that accelerate production and ensure flight reliability.
Responsibilities:
* Develop software scripts and instrumentation interfaces to collect, process, and analyze telemetry and test data
* Analyze test data for sub-assembly and vehicle-level assemblies and perform root cause analysis to drive disposition and recovery
* Conduct failure mode Pareto analysis and drive continuous improvement in product design and manufacturability by feeding failure insights back to upstream teams
* Partner with Test and Manufacturing Engineers to identify and resolve yield blockers and eliminate recurring issues
* Optimize production test flow and configuration to reduce test time while maintaining flight qualification and reliability
* Perform hands-on experiments and hardware debug to characterize system behavior and propose corrective actions
* Document and communicate findings and actions clearly across engineering and program stakeholders
REQUIREMENTS:
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
* 5+ years of experience in software systems development, hardware testing, debug, or production engineering roles
* Hands-on experience with sensors, actuators, DAQ systems, and embedded systems
* Strong background in system-level debugging, failure analysis, and test optimization
* Proficiency in Python, MATLAB, C, NI TestStand, etc. or similar scripting languages for test automation and data analysis
* Experience with test system design, instrumentation, and test equipment commissioning
* Familiarity with Linux/Windows environments for hardware/software configuration
* Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally in fast-paced, high-throughput environments
Preferred:
* Master's degree in Engineering or Applied Science
* Experience with development and testing of electro-mechanical systems
* Experience in implementing Statistical Process Control and Statistical tools such as Minitab, JMP
* Experience working in aerospace or high-reliability manufacturing environments
* Exposure to commercial test equipment (Keysight, R&S, Spirent, BK Precision, etc.)
* Understanding of manufacturing execution systems (MES) and integration of test data pipelines
