Contract
Location: Los Angeles, CA (onsite preferred)
Thermal Engineer Contingent Worker Role
Basic qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related discipline, or equivalent experience.
- 3+ year experience with Thermal Desktop (SINDA) and/or Ansys thermal analysis tools (ICEPAK. Fluent, mechanical, etc.)
- 2+ year experience with test planning, test set-up (thermocouple and heater installation), operating DAQ and power supplies, results correlation and system verification for production
- Experience in documentation and writing test reports.
Preferred qualifications
- Experience with avionics thermal design and analysis.
- CAD skills (NX or Solidworks).
- Experience with interpreting and correlating test data to thermal models.
Specifics tasks that this individual will support are as follows:
Modem Module (0.5 Full-Time Equivalent (FTE) - 12 months)
- Provide design inputs to the mechanical and electrical teams.
- Complete thermal modeling analysis using Ansys analysis tools.
- Develop comprehensive thermal analysis documentation
- Develop thermal testing and qualification plan.
- Conduct thermal testing and model validation.
Optical Communications Terminal v2 (OCT v2) (0.5 FTE - 12 months)
- Perform trade studies to select architecture of the electronic enclosures.
- Preliminary thermal analysis of printed circuit board assemblies.
- Collaborate with design team to develop preliminary designs.
- Define and execute development testing.
