We are looking for a Data Operations Engineer - Location: Manhattan, NJ (hybrid) Position Type 6+ Months Contract Position.

Work Location / Mode: Hybrid Manhattan, NY (3 days from office)

About the Role

Data Operations Engineer to manage end-to-end data workflows, including ingestion, ELT pipelines, and reporting operations. This role is critical for ensuring seamless data delivery, operational efficiency, and maintaining data integrity within the investment and capital markets domain.

The ideal candidate will bring strong hands-on expertise in PL/SQL, extensive knowledge of financial instruments (securities, mutual funds, ETFs), and deep experience with the trade lifecycle. This position requires a proactive problem-solver with a strong background in data operations, monitoring, and troubleshooting in a high-volume, regulated environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and maintain data ingestion, ELT, and transformation pipelines.
  • Ensure timely and accurate data delivery to downstream systems and reporting platforms.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot data jobs for both batch and real-time processes.
  • Develop and optimize PL/SQL queries and stored procedures for data extraction and transformation.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders, data analysts, and engineering teams to meet delivery SLAs.
  • Apply domain expertise to ensure accurate handling of financial data related to trades, securities, mutual funds, and ETFs.
  • Support data quality initiatives and implement controls to maintain integrity across systems.

Required Experience

  • 12+ years in development, with 5+ years in financial instruments including securities, mutual funds, investments, and capital markets.
  • 7+ years in Data Operations, Data Engineering, or related roles.
  • Strong hands-on PL/SQL expertise and advanced data manipulation skills.
  • Deep understanding of investment management, capital markets, and trade lifecycle.
  • Proven experience with data ingestion frameworks, ELT pipelines, and reporting solutions.
  • Familiarity with financial data structures, regulatory requirements, and reporting standards.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work in a fast-paced hybrid environment.
