Job Title: IT Business Analyst - Trading & Derivatives
Location: Houston, TX
Duration: 12 Months
Summary:
Seeking an experienced IT Business Analyst to join our trading team supporting front/middle office exchange-traded derivatives. Bridge business and IT across the trade lifecycle, EMS/OMS platforms, and global compliance environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze and document requirements for derivatives/algo trading systems across the full trade lifecycle (RFQ, order capture, execution, allocation, settlement, compliance)
- Serve as SME for trading system initiatives; communicate with traders, developers, and stakeholders
- Map and improve workflow for exchange-traded/futures markets; liaise with market data providers (Bloomberg, Refinitiv) and network/EMS vendors (TT, NYFIX, TradingScreen)
- Analyze/implement regulatory (MiFID II, EMIR, FCA) initiatives and algo trading compliance (RTS6)
- Troubleshoot, support, and deploy technical solutions (FIX, TCP/multicast protocol debugging)
- Scripting and automation with Python, PowerShell, C#, SQL
- Coordinate exchange certification, application deployment, and vendor management
- Draft business cases, support audit, and align technology with global trading objectives
Required Skills:
- 8+ years in commodity trading, price risk management, investment banks, or capital markets
- Proven BA in trading (front/middle office) and ETD experience
- Strong trade lifecycle and derivatives workflow knowledge
- EMS/OMS, market data, and FIX expertise
- Regulatory compliance and trading system audit experience
- Advanced technical skills in scripting and network analysis
- Excellent communicator, team player, and problem-solver
