Job Details

rimary Function of Position

Execute and complete part production qualification deliverables that include: Gage R&R, Measurement Correlation, Process Capability, and Process Validation.

Perform investigation, root cause analysis, corrective actions, and preventative actions for non-conformances of purchased components.

Drive suppliers to continuously improve business and manufacturing processes.

Execute projects with suppliers to implement changes and improvements affecting quality, capacity, cost, and supply chain risk management.

Essential Job Duties

Work relentlessly with suppliers to improve quality, identify and execute cost reductions, capacity improvements, and risk mitigations.

Manage supplier changes including manufacturing process changes, capacity optimization, facility changes, and new equipment qualification.

Investigate, analyze, close, and prevent recurrence of non-conformances for purchased components from suppliers.

Drive suppliers to continually improve their business and manufacturing process performance to meet Intuitive s requirements for supplier excellence using a collection of best practices in project management and SPC.

Complete project and part qualification deliverables that include: FAIR, Process FMEA, Gage R&R, Measurement Correlation, Process Capability, and Process Validation.

Required Skills and Experience

Demonstrable knowledge in at least 1 of the following manufacturing processes: machined metal components, plastic molded parts, aluminum castings, electrical cables, PCAs, and motion control components (motors, brakes, sensors).

Strong and persistent curiosity for solving technical problems in component manufacturing and inspection within our cross-functional engineering team.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Excellent ability to handle challenging technical and interpersonal situations with suppliers and internal customers.

Practical knowledge of Part Qualification and Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA).

Ability to read and interpret detailed mechanical drawings containing GD&T to be able to communicate technical information regarding manufacturing and inspection.

Notable computer experience using Microsoft Office suite, Product Lifecycle Management software (e.g. Agile), and ERP software (e.g. SAP).

Required Education and Training

BS degree in Engineering or equivalent, Master s degree preferred.

3-5 years of related experience in Manufacturing Engineering, Supplier Engineering, Quality Engineering, or Design Engineering.

Preferred to have experience at a medical device company or capital equipment company in a different industry.
