Job Description: Data Discovery Analyst
Location: Hybrid Dallas, TX
Relocation: Open to candidates willing to relocate to Dallas
Overview
Data Discovery Analyst to join their Cybersecurity organization. The selected candidate will support data discovery efforts across the enterprise, working to enhance data protection, ensure regulatory compliance, and enable consistent data governance.
Responsibilities
  • Execute and analyze enterprise data scans using leading data discovery and protection tools
  • Collaborate with cybersecurity, data governance, and product teams to implement data classification strategies
  • Assist with defining and enforcing data protection policies and controls
  • Translate scan results into actionable recommendations to improve data visibility and compliance
  • Provide input into data privacy efforts aligned with regulations like GDPR and CCPA
Required Skills & Experience
  • Bachelor s in Cybersecurity, Data Privacy, Computer Science, or related field OR equivalent work experience
  • Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience in data discovery, data protection, or data loss prevention (DLP)
  • Practical experience with tools such as Microsoft Purview, BigID, Securiti, or Sentra
  • Strong understanding of data classification, data governance, and data privacy principles
  • Experience working with both structured and unstructured data
  • Knowledge of GDPR, CCPA, or other data protection regulations
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate across teams
Key Requirements
  • Experience with MS Purview (mandatory)
  • Strong grasp of data management principles
  • Practical experience in data classification implementation
  • Strong problem-solving and time management skills
Nice to Have
  • Experience with additional discovery/protection tools (e.g., Securiti, Sentra)
  • Familiarity with cloud-based data platforms (Azure, AWS, Google Cloud Platform)
