Manual:
Understanding of HTTP methods (GET, POST, PUT, DELETE)
JSON/XML structure understanding
Familiarity with Postman or Swagger
Ability to write test cases based on API contract/specifications
Basic knowledge of RESTful services
Automation:
Proficiency in Karate DSL
Knowledge of Gherkin/Cucumber syntax (Given, When, Then)
Familiarity with Java (since Karate is Java-based)
Experience in writing reusable functions in Karate
Good to have Selenium knowledge
Design and implement Karate framework
Write and execute Karate feature files
Integrate tests into CI/CD pipelines
Optimize test strategy and code
Handle complex logic (data-driven testing, mocks, etc.)
Maintain scalable automation framework
