THIS IS AN ONSITE POSITION IN COLUMBUS OHIO

Position Purpose: Deploys data center related end-to-end technologies. Tracks assets and cabling using standard documentation. Monitors and responds to alarms for data center equipment. Monitors and responds to alarms for the mechanical/electric plant (MEP). Completes change requests and associated tasks as assigned. Responds to incident tickets as assigned.
  • Performing hardware installations & decommissions of enterprise servers and cabling infrastructure.
  • Troubleshooting and repair of data center hardware and networking infrastructure.
  • Monitoring of security information and event management (SEIM) system for anomalies and taking appropriate action as necessary.
  • Racking and stacking of data center equipment, including but not limited to servers, networking devices, monitoring equipment and other equipment.
  • Rack installations to include setting racks in place, installing cables, powering up and handing off servers to internal provisioning teams.
  • Monitoring all mechanical/electric plant (MEP) systems including but not limited to: HVAC, power distribution, UPS standby generators and life safety systems.
  • Documenting and modifying standard operating procedures (SOP) for data center operations.
  • Supporting the inventory control process by tracking orders of repair parts and return of failed parts as required.
  • Installing structured cabling to include labeling and troubleshooting of fiber, copper and telcom cables.
  • Managing data center power utilization by properly maintaining phase balance in cabinets during equipment installations.
  • Conducting regular walkthroughs of MEP and raised floor areas.
  • Scheduling maintenance windows for data center deployments while adhering to all change management requirements.
  • Participating in vendor management to include: initiating & tracking access requests, acting as a vendor escort and monitoring of vendor work.
  • Performs other duties as assigned
  • Complies with all policies and standards

Education/Experience: An associate degree or vocational training or military training in an information technology or similar field (e.g., statistics, mathematics, engineering).
Requires 0 - 2 years of related experience.

Or equivalent experience acquired through accomplishments of applicable knowledge, duties, scope and skill reflective of the level of this position.

Technical Skills:
  • One or more of the following skills are desired.
  • Knowledge of Change Management
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Knowledge of Troubleshooting (Problem Solving)

Soft Skills:
  • Seeks to acquire knowledge in area of specialty
  • Ability to identify basic problems and procedural irregularities, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions

Pay Range: $26.50 - $47.59 per hour
