Description:
Title - Senior Electrical/Electronic Engineer

Location - Sterling Heights, MI 48310

Contract - 12+ Months

Responsibilities

As a Senior Electrical/Electronics Engineer, you will be a key contributor to the project's success. Your primary duties will include:

Design and Technical Leadership
  • Specify and design components, including wiring harnesses and cable assemblies, derived from complex system, subsystem, or configuration item requirements.
  • Validate design compliance through modeling, simulation, analysis, and rigorous testing.
  • Serve as a technical decision-maker, proactively addressing issues that may impact project timelines and completion.
  • Prepare and complete comprehensive engineering documentation, including specifications, Interface Control Documents (ICDs), design documents, and technical/test reports, as well as full technical data packages.
  • Guide and oversee drafters and designers in the creation of clear, accurate, and releasable engineering documents.

Project Management and Compliance
  • Develop cost estimates and detailed schedules for assigned electrical design projects.
  • Monitor and track the procurement, manufacturing, and delivery of components in coordination with purchasing and manufacturing departments to ensure adherence to schedules.
  • Prepare and process necessary documentation such as Change Notices, Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs), and Engineering Orders (EOs) to manage design and process updates.
  • Provide regular, clear status reports to supervisors, project engineers, and customers.


Required Skills & Experience

Technical Expertise
  • Proven experience in military ground vehicle wiring harness and cabling design.
  • Expert-level experience working with electrical/electronic systems specifically for military ground vehicles.
  • Working knowledge of low voltage (28Vdc) power distribution and management systems, including Solid State Power Controllers (SSPC) and Programmable Power Controllers (PPC).
  • Experience with Vehicle Signal management, particularly Sensor/Transducer Input/Output signal management.
  • Familiarity with Smart Display Units in a vehicle context.
  • Deep understanding of military electrical connectors and electrical cabling specifications.
  • Proficiency with military and vehicle communication protocols, including SAEJ1939 CANBus, Mil-Std - 1553, 10/100, and Gigabit Ethernet.
  • Experience in the integration of military communication/antenna systems, such as BFT, SINCGARS, DAGR, and CREW2.

Software and Process
  • Working knowledge of drafting and design software such as Visio Technical, Creo, or an equivalent tool.
  • Strong understanding of system, subsystem, and component specification development and the process required for successful verification and validation of those specifications.


Qualifications

Education:
  • Bachelor of Science (BS) or Master of Science (MS) in Electrical Engineering from an accredited college or university, or equivalent engineering degree/experience.

Experience:
  • Four (4) years of relevant experience with a BS degree, OR
  • One (1) year of relevant experience with an MS degree.
