Electronic Access Control Security Technician
Location: (Insert Location)
Schedule: Full-time | Hourly | Non-exempt
Industry: Commercial Security & Life Safety Systems
Experience: 3+ years preferred
TEKsystems is seeking an experienced Electronic Access Control Security Technician to support one of our key clients in the commercial security and life safety space. This technician will be responsible for servicing a wide variety of systems including access control, CCTV, and intrusion alarms. The ideal candidate is a self-starter with strong technical skills, excellent customer service, and a commitment to continuous learning.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide on-site and remote support for access control, CCTV (analog & IP), and intrusion systems.
  • Troubleshoot and repair systems efficiently and professionally.
  • Advise clients on system upgrades and enhancements.
  • Assist with system programming and installations as needed.
  • Maintain accurate service documentation and vehicle inventory.
  • Participate in on-call rotation for emergency service.
  • Travel occasionally for projects requiring overnight stays.

Preferred Experience

  • Hands-on experience with systems such as:
    • Lenel, RS2, GE (Casi), DMP, DSC, DoorKing, Interlogix, Honeywell, 2GIG, Exacq, S2, Speco, Avigilon
  • Manufacturer certifications and/or ESA certifications (e.g., CST).
  • Strong understanding of electrified door hardware and security codes.

Requirements

  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Proficient in reading architectural, electrical, and mechanical drawings.
  • Comfortable working at heights and in various environmental conditions.
  • Strong communication skills and a customer-first mindset.

Physical Requirements

  • Lift up to 50 lbs and work on ladders exceeding 30 feet.
  • Distinguish colors and sound tones; recognize warning devices at a distance.
  • Operate lifts and work in confined spaces when necessary.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $35.00/hr.
