Job Description
Enterprise Horizon Consulting Group is seeking a skilled and customer-focused Desktop Support Technician to provide technical assistance, troubleshooting, and maintenance for our gov t customer on-site in Norfolk, VA. The successful candidate will troubleshoot hardware and software issues, maintain IT equipment, and ensure smooth day-to-day operations for both onsite and remote users.
Location: This position is on-site in Norfolk, VA.
Key Responsibilities
- Technical Support & Troubleshooting: Provide desktop, laptop, and peripheral device support, diagnosing and resolving hardware/software issues.
- System Maintenance & Upgrades: Install, configure, and update operating systems, applications, and security patches to maintain compliance.
- User Assistance & Training: Assist government personnel with IT-related inquiries, system navigation, and best practices.
- Network & Security Compliance: Ensure adherence to federal cybersecurity policies, including access controls, encryption, and vulnerability management.
- Incident Response & Documentation: Log and track IT service requests, escalate complex issues, and maintain detailed records of resolutions.
- Collaboration & Coordination: Work with IT teams, cybersecurity specialists, and system administrators to optimize performance and security.
Requirements
- Active Secret Clearance.
- Experience in federal government IT support/ help desk.
- Strong knowledge of Windows and Linux operating systems as well as Microsoft Office Suite, and common business applications.
- Understanding of TCP/IP, VPNs, firewalls, and network troubleshooting.
- Experience with ticketing systems such as ServiceNow, Remedy, or similar.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
