Job Details

We are seeking a Capital Projects Electrical Engineer to join our corporate engineering team based in Jupiter West, FL. In this role, you will plan and organize complex engineering projects, applying advanced technical expertise in power systems engineering. You will interface with engineering firms during project development, ensure compliance with industry and regulatory standards, and prepare or review detailed engineering documents.

This is a senior-level position requiring independent decision-making and leadership in technical execution. The ideal candidate brings extensive nuclear engineering experience and a strong foundation in electrical design for capital projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead or contribute to the planning and execution of complex engineering projects.
  • Provide technical interface and oversight to engineering firms during design and development.
  • Prepare, review, and verify design output documents including design changes, calculations, and specifications.
  • Apply applicable industry and nuclear standards throughout project development and execution.
  • Perform or review electrical calculations, procurement specifications, and design verification per 10CFR50.59.
  • Support independent design verification and ensure adherence to nuclear regulatory requirements.

Technical Expertise

Candidates should demonstrate proficiency and experience with:

  • Electrical systems and components such as molded case circuit breakers, motor starters, overloads, LV/MV switchgear, transformers, industrial battery chargers, UPS systems, and emergency diesel generators.
  • Power systems analysis tools including ETAP, EDISON, or similar software (load flow, short circuit, arc flash, coordination studies).
  • Electrical design documentation such as ladder logic, schematics, NSCA/safe shutdown analysis (Appendix R/NFPA 805).
  • Familiarity with voltage regulation, dry-type/oil-filled transformers, and main generator systems.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor s degree in Engineering (Electrical discipline preferred).
  • Minimum 10 years of relevant engineering experience; 12+ years of U.S. nuclear experience required.
  • Professional Engineer (P.E.) license strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of nuclear industry standards and the nuclear design process.
  • Experience primarily in power systems engineering, not instrumentation, controls, or cybersecurity.
  • Prior experience as an Engineer or Project Lead in design/project engineering is preferred.
  • Experience with U.S. nuclear facilities such as Seabrook, Point Beach, St. Lucie, or Turkey Point is highly desirable.
