Full Stack Engineer - Node.js & AWS (6-Month Contract-to-Hire)

We're seeking a highly skilled and motivated Full Stack Engineer to join our team on a 6-month contract-to-hire basis. This role is ideal for someone with deep expertise in Node.js, AWS, and modern web technologies who thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
Work Schedule:
Hybrid role with on-site presence required Tuesday through Thursday each week.
Contract Type:
6-month contract-to-hire with the potential for full-time conversion based on performance and business needs.

What You'll Do

  • Design, build, and maintain scalable APIs and backend services using Node.js and AWS.
  • Lead and mentor a cross-functional team of developers, analysts, and QA engineers.
  • Translate business requirements into technical solutions with clean, maintainable code.
  • Conduct code reviews and enforce best practices in architecture, performance, and security.
  • Collaborate with UX designers, product owners, and system architects to deliver seamless user experiences.
  • Drive innovation and continuous improvement across development processes and tools.
  • Communicate technical concepts and timelines clearly to stakeholders.

Interview Process

  • Step 1: Take Home Node.js Assessment
  • Step 2: 30 Minute teams video interview with hiring manager
  • Step 3: 90 Minute live coding and technical interview with the team

What You Bring

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (required).
  • 7+ years of hands-on software development experience.
  • Strong proficiency in Node.js, JavaScript, React.js, and RESTful API design.
  • Solid experience with SQL and NoSQL databases (e.g., MySQL, Oracle, PostgreSQL, DynamoDB, MongoDB).
  • Deep understanding of AWS services such as Lambda, EC2, ECS, Route53, Elasticsearch, and IAM.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and tools like Jenkins.
  • Experience with modern JavaScript frameworks and tools (React, Redux, ES6, TypeScript, Babel, Webpack).
  • Knowledge of responsive design, reactive programming, and performance optimization.
  • Comfortable working in Agile environments using tools like Jira, Trello, or LeanKit.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to explain complex technical topics to non-technical audiences.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with GraphQL, YAML, JSON, HTML, XML, and CSS.
  • Proven ability to lead and mentor team members.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $90.00 - $100.00/hr.
