Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled technician to perform depot-level repairs, modifications, and refurbishments of electro-mechanical and electro-optical components. This role involves troubleshooting, fault isolation, and acceptance testing of mechanical, structural, and optical subsystems. Job Title: Field Engineer
Location: Gilbert, AZ
Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled technician to perform depot-level repairs, modifications, and refurbishments of electro-mechanical and electro-optical components. This role involves troubleshooting, fault isolation, and acceptance testing of mechanical, structural, and optical subsystems. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with precision measuring equipment, test instruments, and repair processes in compliance with engineering specifications and industry standards.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct technical analysis of product implementations, modifications, and enhancements based on customer specifications.
- Perform painting duties for systems and miscellaneous hardware as a secondary painter.
- Repair, rework, and troubleshoot electro-mechanical and electro-optical assemblies, including fault isolation and acceptance testing.
- Operate automated and general-purpose test equipment (oscilloscopes, multi-meters, network analyzers, waveform generators).
- Interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and repair procedures to ensure compliance with specifications.
- Utilize precision measuring equipment to verify tolerances and engineering requirements.
- Set up and operate conventional milling machines and drill presses for component rework or repair.
- Complete work in accordance with engineering drawings, Repair Center Procedures (RCPs), Field Advisory Bulletins (FABs), and Contractor Installation Procedures (CIPs).
- Document work in automated maintenance data collection systems following established processes.
- Provide technical feedback on electro-mechanical and electro-optical components to improve reliability.
- Handle hazardous materials and chemicals safely using appropriate PPE.
- Perform limited supply duties, including loading/unloading trucks and operating overhead hoists.
Required Qualifications:
- 2-4 years of experience in repairing electro-mechanical and electro-optical assemblies.
- 2-4 years of experience with basic avionics and electronics principles.
- 2-4 years of experience in CCA component rework and repair.
- 2-4 years of experience troubleshooting and fault isolation using general-purpose or automated test equipment.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and repair/test procedures.
- Familiarity with industrial standards, military specifications, and industry processes.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to lift up to 35 pounds.
- Ability to adapt to dynamic and changing customer requirements.
- Knowledge of policies and procedures for handling government property.
- Ability to work safely with hazardous materials and mix/weigh chemicals.
- Proficiency in safety wiring assemblies and connectors.
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
Desired Skills:
- Hands-on experience with automated and general-purpose test equipment (oscilloscopes, multi-meters, network analyzers, waveform generators).
- Strong understanding of fault isolation for electro-mechanical and electro-optical components.
- Knowledge of hardware repair concepts and aircraft maintenance safety standards.
- Military flight-line maintenance experience is a plus.
