Location San Francisco, CA 94107, USA.

Onsite/Hybrid - once in every 2 weeks needs to be DD office, 2-3 days in the Pleasanton CR office.

Job Description:

As a Business Intelligence (BI) Engineer with expertise in Tableau, you will play a critical role in designing and implementing effective BI solutions to support data-driven decision-making processes within our organization. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, gather requirements, design data models, and develop interactive visualizations using Tableau. Your role will involve transforming complex data into actionable insights and contributing to the overall data strategy of the company.

Responsibilities:

  • Requirement Gathering: Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand their data and reporting needs. Translate these requirements into technical specifications for BI solutions.
  • Data Modeling: Design and develop efficient data models that support reporting and analytics. Ensure proper data integration from various sources, data cleansing, and transformation.
  • Tableau Development: Create interactive and visually appealing dashboards, reports, and visualizations using Tableau. Develop calculated fields, custom hierarchies, and other Tableau functionalities.
  • Data Integration: Integrate data from different sources such as databases, data warehouses, APIs, and flat files to provide a holistic view for analysis.
  • Performance Optimization: Fine-tune and optimize BI solutions for performance and responsiveness. Identify and resolve bottlenecks in data processing and visualization rendering.
  • Data Governance: Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and security by implementing appropriate data governance practices. Define access controls, data lineage, and data quality standards.
  • Documentation: Maintain thorough documentation of data models, data flows, and BI solutions. Keep technical documentation up-to-date for future reference.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with data engineers, data analysts, and other team members to ensure seamless data integration and reporting processes.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (Master's preferred).
  • Proven experience as a BI Engineer or similar role, with a strong focus on Tableau development.
  • Proficiency in Tableau Desktop, Tableau Server, and Tableau Online.
  • Solid understanding of data modeling concepts and practices.
  • Strong SQL skills for data querying and manipulation.
  • Familiarity with ETL processes and data integration.
  • Experience with data visualization best practices.
  • Knowledge of data governance and security principles.
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
