Title and Summary

Senior Software Engineer (IBM Mainframe, COBOL)

Overview
This position is for a Senior Software Engineer in Payment Networks, in the Clearing Program, specifically for the Debit application known as MDS Batch.
Debit knowledge and/or Clearing knowledge preferred.
Proficient with the Software development on IBM Mainframe COBOL, JCL, PROC using Endeavor as a software change management tool
Proficient with VSAM, GDG files, Sequential files
Proficient with File-Aid
Proficient with OPC Scheduler
Java experience being a plus
Experience with GFT/nGFT as a transmission protocol
Coordinate with other inbound and outbound applications to ensure success of the project
Work with TPM/PMT to develop project schedule and track the deliverables
Working knowledge in a full lifecycle development project and used various development methodologies including Waterfall and primarily Agile

Role

Design and Develops software which meets business requirements.
Develop directly from a Leads Design Doc to meet business requirements.
Maintain project related metrics reporting for management review.
Engage in peer reviews of teammate designs and testing signoff.
Engage in story grooming, acceptance criteria to achieve business requirements.
Engage in initiatives for automation, defect metrics and overall quality initiatives.
Handle coordination between teams based in various locations.
Create demos for the projects you are assigned.
Participate in daily scrum calls per ALM cadence for project updates
Update application knowledge/documentation in confluence
Contribute to the writing of the customer announcements per project

All About You
Responsible for the analysis, design, development and delivery of software solutions
Experience in Mainframe batch development in COBOL, JCL, PROC
Experience with OPC Scheduler
Experience in unit testing, sonar scans, code coverage testing, and building UAT testing signoff documents
Able to perform debugging and troubleshooting with Use of Abend-Aid /Xpediter to analyze and remove coding errors
Experience working with Quality Engineering to assist in the building of ITF test plans/cases and defect resolution
Strong Communicator in both written and verbal
Has skills to elaborate and estimate functional requirements
