- Job title: Network Architect - Level III
- Duration: 12 Months Plus Possible Extension
- Work Location: Downtown NYC. Hybrid
- Project Description: The Network Engineer will design, implement, and maintain network systems to ensure efficient and secure IT infrastructure operations. This role involves working with various network devices, including switches, routers, firewalls, and wireless LAN controllers, to support the organization's connectivity needs. The primary focus will be on the Network Modernization Project, which aims to upgrade and standardize the network infrastructure across all internal campuses.
- Mandatory Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Minimum 7+ years of experience in networking practices within a network engineer role, with a strong focus on Cisco technologies.
- Preferred professional certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, or CCDP.
- Extensive hands-on experience with monitoring, network diagnostic, and network analytics tools.
- Demonstrate extensive expertise in routing and switching, with a deep understanding of network protocols, topologies, and the ability to design and manage complex network infrastructures efficiently.
- Solid understanding of network operating systems, including Cisco IOS, NX-OS, IOS-XR, and IOS-XE.
- In-depth knowledge of various network protocols, including EIGRP, OSPF, BGP, STP, IPSec, VLAN, VXLAN, SNMP, and Cisco Application Centric Infrastructure (ACI).
- Expertise with Cisco Catalyst Center, Meraki Dashboard, Nexus Dashboard, Thousand Eyes, and Splunk ITSI and Palo Alto Firewall.
- Proficiency in network troubleshooting and packet analysis using tools such as SolarWinds and Wireshark.
- Experience with Cisco wireless technologies, including Cisco Meraki and Catalyst WLC Controller and ISE.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple, competing priorities and stakeholder expectations. Capable of championing ideas and solutions while multitasking under tight deadlines.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to build exceptional rapport with university stakeholders.
- Proven success in forming cooperative partnerships with both internal and external stakeholders.
- Outstanding communication skills, with the ability to facilitate group discussions, effectively articulate client
- needs, collaborate, and lead presentations within the management structure to diverse groups of technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Proficiency with all Microsoft Office/M365 tools, including Teams, Word, Excel, Visio, and PowerPoint
- Proven experience in network engineering, including design, implementation, and troubleshooting of network systems.
- Proficiency with network devices such as switches, routers, firewalls, wireless LANs and DNA Center.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills.
