The responsibilities and duties include but are not limited to the following:
- Follow safety procedures and expectations which include knowledge of hazards and necessary precautions for assigned tool set(s) and following Lock out/Tag Out procedures. Adhere to all clean room protocols and procedures.
- Monitor equipment in the area and be familiar with equipment and process related issues within the module.
- Perform preventative, corrective, and diagnostic maintenance proficiently with "root-cause" solutions for all repairs.
- Develop model-based troubleshooting plans for extended tool downs.
- Perform data analysis of tool performance on assigned tool, propose improvements and drive improvement activities based on this data.
- Use Statistical Process Control (SPC) to troubleshoot and determine the health of tools in the area.
- Maintain a clean working area and follow 5S principles during repairs and preventative maintenance.
- Maintain detailed documentation of work performed.
- Ability and willingness to share expert knowledge with younger technicians and engineers to help elevate the overall capability of the group.
Skills and Experience
- Associate's degree in technical field - Electronics, Electromechanical, Semiconductor Manufacturing Technology, or similar equivalent military experience, or equivalent technical experience.
- Six or more years of experience as an equipment technician maintaining semiconductor processing equipment. Focus tool sets are vertical diffusion furnaces and linear wet sinks.
- Experience on some of the following tools would be an advantage; JST linear wet sinks, wet etch process tools, ASM A400 Classic furnaces, ASM DUO furnaces, TEL SE and SEi furnaces.
- Broad knowledge of electronic, robotic, pneumatic, and vacuum systems related to semiconductor manufacturing. Ability to troubleshoot to component level when necessary.
- Experienced in the use of schematics, hand tools, DVM, oscilloscope and other common diagnostic test equipment.
- Good communication skills required.
- Implement solutions for continuous improvement of machine availability, cycle time, MTBF, scrap reduction, cost of ownership, and equipment long downs.
- Perform data analysis of tool performance on assigned tool and drive improvement activities based on data.
- Ensure timeliness of projects are met using time management/project management skills.
- Ensure excellent attention to detail and follow up pertaining to projects, maintenance, and equipment to maximize operational production and efficiency.
- Able to lift/push/pull/carry up to 35lbs unassisted.
- Able to lift/push/pull/carry more than 35lbs with assistance.
