What You Will Do

This position is for a Engineer, Airframe Integration Engineering professional. Airframe Integration is an exciting discipline that covers a broad range of responsibilities. Pratt & Whitney F135 Engine Design & Systems Integration Team is looking for a Weapon Systems [Airframe] Integration (WSI) Engineer for the design, development, and certification of the F135 Engine Core Upgrade (ECU). The WSI Engineer is responsible for all aspects of integration with Lockheed Martin [Airframer] including requirements analysis & definition, and system verification & validation. WSI integrates the propulsion system design across other engine system modules and with the air vehicles; and provides support throughout the complete engine product life cycle. The primary work location will be on-site at the Pratt & Whitney, Aguadilla, PR, office. Some travel up to 10% may be required to meet and work with airframer and to support testing and other activities as needed.
  • Decompose the Government requirements, work with Discipline chief to develop margins, communicate allocations to CIPT's.
  • Participate in design integration and requirements reviews.
  • Work on various design integration tasks including gaps, config management as need arises.
  • Participate in airworthiness planning
  • English (read, write, speak) is required when communicating with customers, co-workers, or supervisors who only speak English.
  • PSIP updates and requirements flow down to Rolls-Royce

Qualifications You Must Have
  • Bachelor degree in Engineering
  • 2 years of engineering experience or Advanced degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Aerospace Engineering with a GPA of 3.0 or higher.

Qualifications We Prefer
  • Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • Knowledge of gas turbine engines.
  • Knowledge of Thermodynamics, Fluids Mechanics, Structures, and / or Controls.
  • Experience with systems integration, requirements analysis, and / or verification and validation processes.
  • Practical experience with systems level analysis tools and methods and how they are integrated to other system design objectives (e.g. structural rotating part lifting, turbine durability, general structural integrity, clearance and gapping assessments).
  • Experience with agile development methods.
