SUMMARY


We are currently in search of a Solutions Architect who will fulfill the role of Tech Lead within the organization. This individual will bear the responsibility of offering technical leadership, overseeing project management, nurturing collaborative efforts, steering technical excellence, and consistently enhancing processes. The aim is to guarantee the smooth and effective delivery of solutions and technologies across the program.



In addition, the Solution Architect will play a pivotal role in supporting the Engineering Lead, DITM, and Enterprise Architect. This collaborative effort is geared towards driving the Broker Divisions of engineering and solutions, thereby contributing to the advancement and success of our endeavors.



The team is comprised of the best-in-class technology partners to leverage forward-leaning technologies and best practices to transform IT capabilities and shift offerings to provide a more flexible service delivery model, completing the agency's shift to a fully digital experience along with its adoption of advanced, emerging technologies such as intelligent automation, artificial intelligence, and machine learning.


RESPONSIBILITIES


This position shall perform the following (to include but not limited to) activities:



  • Architectural Guidance: Provide technical direction and guidance for the design and implementation of solutions, ensuring they align with the organization's goals and standards.

  • Process Optimization: Continuously assess and improve processes, identifying bottlenecks and inefficiencies and implementing solutions for optimization.

  • Innovation: Explore innovative technologies and methodologies to enhance the organization's practices and efficiency.

  • Technology Evaluation: Stay updated on emerging technologies, tools, and best practices in the DevSecOps domain, and evaluate their potential for adoption within the organization.

  • Code Quality: Set coding standards, review code, and provide feedback to ensure high-quality code that is maintainable, scalable, and follows best practices. Includes Terraform, JavaScript, Python, PowerShell, Bash and Ansible.

  • Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD): Define and implement CI/CD pipelines that automate the build, test, and deployment processes, enabling rapid and reliable releases.

  • Release Coordination: Coordinate the release of software updates, ensuring smooth deployments and minimizing downtime.

  • Design and Implementation: Collaborate with teams to design and implement solutions that automate deployment, monitoring, and scaling of applications.

  • Infrastructure as Code: Promote the use of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles to manage and provision infrastructure using code, enhancing consistency and reproducibility.

  • Requirements Analysis: Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and analyze requirements for projects, ensuring a clear understanding of the goals and scope.

  • Resource Planning: Estimate resource requirements, including human resources, tools, and infrastructure, for executing projects.

  • Roadmap and Planning: Develop project roadmaps, timelines, and milestones, considering both short-term and long-term goals.

  • Risk Management: Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with development, operations, QA, and other teams to foster a collaborative environment and streamline the end-to-end demand delivery process.

  • Stakeholder Communication: Communicate project progress, challenges, and successes to stakeholders, including upper management and team members, ensuring transparency and alignment.

  • Documentation: Create and maintain documentation for processes, best practices, and infrastructure configurations to facilitate knowledge sharing and onboarding.

  • Training: Provide training and mentorship to team members, fostering their professional growth and development.


CONTRACT REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS


This following are REQUIRED for this position:



  • Public Trust Clearance by the start date.

  • ITILv4 Foundation Training and ITILv4 Foundation Certification, may be obtained within 120 days after hire.

  • Experience working with multiple operating systems, including Linux and Windows.

  • Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies and a track record of successfully delivering projects in an Agile environment.

  • Must demonstrate ability to lead individuals, Integrated Project Teams and Supervise others.

  • Must have AWS Cloud Practitioner certification or equivalent for Microsoft Azure Platform

  • Strong expertise in architecting and designing complex software solutions and systems.

  • In-depth understanding of cloud technologies (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform) and infrastructure-as-code concepts.

  • In-depth understanding of Low Code, No Code Solutions, such as ServiceNow

  • Provides technical/management leadership on major tasks or technology assignments.

  • Directs and controls activities for a client, having overall responsibility for financial management, methods, and staffing to ensure that technical requirements are met.

  • Interactions involve client negotiations and interfacing with senior management.

  • Decision-making and domain knowledge may have a critical impact on overall project implementation.

  • A strong inclination towards staying up to date with emerging technologies and industry trends.

  • Ability to adapt to evolving technologies and methodologies for solutions.

  • Proficient in creating technical documentation, diagrams, and guidelines.

  • Proven ability to work independently in a full and/or partial remote environment with limited supervision and may supervise/lead others.

  • Possess the ability to communicate in both oral and written forms, demonstrating an ability to communicate effectively with all levels of staff as well as clients.

  • Maintain standard working hours per the DIGIT contract and to be available for meetings, and other collaborative efforts during working hours.

  • Proven experience in effectively communicating with stakeholders, including upper management, to provide project updates and insights.


CONTRACT DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS


The following are DESIRED for this position:



  • Experience with FISMA Framework and Risk Mitigation

  • Experience with Cyber Security Solutions and Frameworks

  • Experience with VMWare suite specifically with VMware vRealize Orchestrator

  • Experience with a wide range of DevSecOps tools, such as Jenkins, Ansible, Terraform, Github, Gitlab, AWS Codepipeline

  • Familiarity with machine learning and artificial intelligence concepts and how they can be integrated into solutions.

  • Familiarity with data architecture principles and technologies for managing data pipelines and analytics.

  • Proficiency in Google Suite (Gmail, Calendar, Chat, Meet, Docs, Slides, Sheets), Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), Slack, and ServiceNow.

  • Must be willing to work a variety of shifts, including holidays as scheduled.

  • Deep understanding of specific industry domains, regulations, and compliance requirements.


EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE


The following are the education and experience required for this position:



  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

  • 10 years minimum proven professional experience as a Solutions Architect, Tech Lead, or similar role.

  • 8 years of IT Engineering, DevSecOps, Automation and solution engineering experience,

  • Experience as a remote worker demonstrating time management and self-discipline with cultural change management and Agile mindset.
