Technical Writer

We're looking for a Senior Technical Writer to join our team and create top-notch documentation for creators in Horizon Worlds. As a key member of our team, you'll produce engaging and informative content, including documentation, code samples, and tutorials, that empowers developers to build incredible immersive experiences on our platform.

• reate and maintain accurate, clear, and compelling documentation for Horizon Worlds, including API references, guides, and tutorials.
• Develop code samples and examples that demonstrate best practices for building immersive experiences.
• Collaborate with engineering, product, and design teams to ensure all documentation is accurate and up to date.
• Conduct research and interviews to gather information and create content that meets the needs of our developer audience.
• Manage multiple projects and deadlines independently, with minimal supervision.
• Continuously improve documentation based on feedback from internal stakeholders and external users.

Required:

• 8+ years of experience writing for a developer audience, with a strong focus on technical documentation and code samples.
• Familiarity with JavaScript or TypeScript.
• Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git).
• Exceptional technical writing and communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex concepts.
• Proven ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Preferred:

• Experience with 3D AR/VR gaming and a strong preference for experience with technical writing for similar platforms.
• Knowledge of media production and instructional design principles, with experience creating interactive tutorials and guides.

• Technical Writing and Communication: The ability to distill complex technical concepts into clear, concise, and engaging documentation is the core of this role. This includes creating API references, guides, and tutorials that a developer audience can easily understand.
• Coding Proficiency: A strong foundation in JavaScript or TypeScript is essential for creating accurate and effective code samples and examples. This skill ensures the writer can speak the same language as the developers they are creating content for.
• Developer Empathy: The role requires understanding the needs of a developer audience. This skill involves conducting research and interviews to ensure that the content produced is both useful and relevant to the creators building on the platform.
• Collaboration and Independent Work: The job requires both collaborating with cross-functional teams (engineering, product, and design) and managing multiple projects and deadlines independently with minimal supervision.
• Version Control Systems: Experience with tools like Git is a must-have for managing documentation and code samples, ensuring changes are tracked and maintained effectively.
