Telecommunications Technician
As a Telecoms Technician you will be working in the clients exchange buildings across the USA, providing connectivity schemes between the MDF and Switch infrastructure.
Job Responsibilities:

Following an agreed schedule provide 2 wire jumpers to complete circuit between the MDF and 20c switching infrastructure.

Terminate 2 wire jumpers using twist and tip soldering techniques or IDC tools as appropriate.

Test Provision of 2wire prior to changeover.

Recover old wiring as specified in job pack.

Provide and test 2Mb co-axial circuits between DDF's.

Support changeover of service working collaboratively as part of a team.

Support decommissioning of Switch infrastructure.

Recover redundant infrastructure from the footprint.

Verifies service by testing circuits and identifying, correcting, or escalating problems.

Documents network by labelling and routing equipment and cables and recording configuration diagrams and specifications.

Maintains safe work environment by following codes, standards, and legal regulations.

Enhances department and organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests and exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
Telecommunications Technician Qualifications/Skills:

Two years minimum experience working on Main Distribution Frames and Intermediate Distribution Frames

HN1 Basic Frames Accreditation

HN4 Frames Accreditation

Competent in use of soldering tools

Competent in use of IDC tools

Competent in making up and testing 3002 co-axial links

Technical understanding of the PSTN

Full clean driving licence

Attention to detail

Verbal communications
Education, Experience, and Licensing Requirements:

Minimum of two years of related IT/telecommunications experience

Experience working on high volume PSTN frames

Experience with provision of 2wire services, ISDN 2, ISDN 30

2Mb circuit provision

The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $35.00/hr.
