Job Title: Cost Estimating Engineer
Location: Houston TX 77056 (onsite 4x per week)
Employment Type: Contract - 12 months, possible extension

About the Role
We are seeking a skilled and motivated FEED Engineer to join our team and support front-end engineering and design (FEED) responsibilities for interconnect and meter station projects. This role is critical in developing accurate project scopes and cost estimates for Tactical, Major, and Mega expansion projects, and in collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure successful project outcomes.

About the Role

This role is critical in developing accurate project scopes and cost estimates for Tactical, Major, and Mega expansion projects, and in collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure successful project outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop cost estimates for interconnects and meter stations, including labor, materials, equipment, and contractor costs.
- Create initial scopes and estimates for projects ranging from Tactical ($200MM).
- Prepare Class III, IV, and V estimates for greenfield and brownfield projects.
- Conduct capacity studies and provide preliminary scope and estimate documentation for reimbursable projects.
- Collaborate with internal teams (commercial, planning, regulatory, environmental, etc.) and external stakeholders to define optimal project facilities.
- Communicate with vendors and suppliers to gather budgetary data.
- Interface with customers to discuss project scope and associated costs.
- Create preliminary meter station schematics and assist in reviewing interconnect and facility agreements.
- Lead small teams and deliver presentations to internal and external audiences.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (preferred).
- 3-5 years of relevant engineering experience, with a focus on cost estimating.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and Power BI.
- Strong understanding of industry standards, safety requirements, and operational procedures.
- Ability to work independently on mid-sized projects and technical assignments.
