WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Platform Development and Management: Lead the design, development, and management of a robust Kubernetes-based platform for application delivery. Ensure the platform's scalability, reliability, and security across different geographic locations.
- Team Leadership: Manage and mentor a team of 7 engineers, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment. Set clear goals and expectations, and provide regular feedback and support to team members.
- Strategic Planning: Collaborate with senior management to define strategic goals for the Kubernetes platform. Develop and implement a roadmap for platform evolution, incorporating the latest technologies and best practices.
- Operational Excellence: Ensure the smooth operation of the Kubernetes platform, including monitoring, troubleshooting, and performance tuning. Implement automation and CI/CD processes to streamline deployment and management tasks.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with other teams, including development, security, and operations, to ensure seamless integration and support for the Kubernetes platform.
- Vendor and Stakeholder Management: Engage with vendors and external stakeholders to secure resources, resolve issues, and align platform development with business objectives.
- Engineering Experience:
- At least 3 years of hands-on experience managing Kubernetes in an enterprise environment. Proven track record of leading teams in the successful delivery of complex projects.
- Over 7 years of direct involvement within engineering teams, coupled with at least 3 years of experience in architecting platform/infrastructure.
- Technical Skills:
- Expertise in Kubernetes architecture, deployment, and management.
- Strong background in AWS cloud services and infrastructure.
- Proficient in networking principles and technologies (DNS, HTTP/S, VPNs, etc.).
- Solid understanding of Linux operating systems and administration.
- Experience with CI/CD tools and processes (Jenkins, GitLab CI, etc.).
- Experience in managing Infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
- Leadership Experience: At least 3 years of experience managing engineering teams, with a proven track record of leading, mentoring, and developing engineers.
- Product Development Leadership: Experience in spearheading product development alongside product or program management teams.
