Job Title: Coffee Program & Operations Consultant (Project-Based)

Location: Remote / On-Site in Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex (Carrollton, Frisco, Irving)

Project Scope: Strategy & Launch for 3 New Locations

Timeline: ]January 2026  through April 2026.

About the Project: We are a capital-backed hospitality group developing three distinct coffee shop locations in the Dallas metro area (Carrollton, Frisco, Irving). We are seeking an experienced Coffee Consultant to partner with us from the planning phase through the grand opening. We are not looking for a "hobbyist"—we need a strategic operator who understands high-volume workflow, multi-site consistency, and profit-driven menu engineering.

Scope of Work & Key Responsibilities:

1. Bar Design & Workflow Optimization

  • Collaborate with our General Contractors and Architects to review floor plans.
  • Design the "Barista Triangle" to minimize steps and maximize throughput.
  • Ensure bar layout eliminates bottlenecks at the POS and Hand-Off planes.
  • Validate all layouts against local Health Code requirements (plumbing, sinks, waste).

2. Equipment Selection & Procurement

  • Provide an unbiased equipment list (Espresso machines, grinders, filtration, batch brewers) tailored to our volume projections.
  • Crucial: Specify water filtration systems capable of handling Dallas water hardness to protect asset longevity.
  • Manage vendor bids to ensure competitive pricing (acting as the owner’s advocate).

3. Menu Engineering & COGS Analysis

  • Develop a core beverage program (House blends, Single Origins, Signature Lattes).
  • Create a food program strategy focused on high-margin, low-prep items (e.g., toast, grab-and-go) that does not require a full commercial kitchen as well as signature items that require a full kitchen.
  • Provide a detailed Cost of Goods Sold (COGS) analysis for every menu item, targeting a healthy profit margin.

4. Operations & Multi-Site Systems

  • Develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure the latte in Frisco tastes exactly like the latte in Irving.
  • Create a "Train the Trainer" program for our Head Baristas.
  • Advise on the "Tech Stack" (POS, Inventory Management, Kitchen Display Systems) for multi-location inventory syncing.

Required Qualifications:

  • Experience: Minimum 5+ years in the specialty coffee industry, with specific experience launching new cafes or managing multi-site operations.
  • Portfolio: Evidence of previous cafe designs or consulting projects (Before/After examples preferred).
  • Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of espresso extraction theory, milk texturing, and water chemistry.
  • Certification: SCA (Specialty Coffee Association) Authorized Trainer (AST) certification is a strong plus.
  • Local Knowledge: Familiarity with DFW health codes and local roaster landscape is preferred.

Deliverables:

  • Redlined Floor Plans (Bar Layout).
  • Final Equipment List with vendor quotes.
  • Full Menu with Recipes and COGS breakdown.
  • Operations Manual / SOP Guide.
  • Staff Training Curriculum.

To Apply: Please submit your resume/CV and a brief cover letter outlining:

  1. A recent project you consulted on.
  2. Your philosophy on "bar flow" and efficiency.
  3. Your fee structure (Hourly vs. Flat Project Fee).
