Position: Vice President, Risk & Business Analytics

Location: Rogers, Arkansas

Salary/Pay Rate: $225,000

Type: Direct Hire (On-site) 

Archon Resources is currently looking for a Vice President, Risk & Business Analytics direct hire to join one of our best clients located in Rogers, Arkansas. This is a permanent position with full benefits including medical, vision, dental, PTO, & 401k.  

Summary:

The Vice President of Risk & Business Analytics is responsible for shaping and executing the organization’s enterprise credit, risk, and analytics strategy. This leader will oversee credit modeling, risk governance, reporting, and automation initiatives to support profitable and sustainable growth in a competitive consumer finance environment. The role requires building a forward-looking, data-driven function while guiding high-impact initiatives across underwriting, funding, servicing, and compliance.

Responsibilities:

Credit Strategy & Market Insights

  • Develop and execute short-term and long-term credit model strategies using both third-party and in-house solutions.

  • Analyze market trends, competitive dynamics, and portfolio performance to guide pricing, risk tolerance, and growth strategies.

Risk Management & Automation Leadership

  • Build and lead a Risk Sandbox and Data Modeling team focused on advanced analytics and risk simulation.

  • Drive automation enhancements across underwriting, funding, and servicing processes.

  • Oversee Loan Origination System (LOS) configuration, including model updates, decisioning logic, and system performance.

Reporting & Business Intelligence

  • Deliver accurate and timely reporting across daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual cycles.

  • Produce and maintain financial and operational presentations for internal leadership, investors, lenders, and external partners.

Compliance, Financial Modeling & Capital Support

  • Ensure risk and compliance requirements are embedded into operational processes and customer experience strategies.

  • Develop, validate, and enhance CECL models to support portfolio quality and optimization.

  • Provide analyses and reporting for securitization, financing efforts, and capital planning.

  • Collaborate with FP&A on profitability initiatives, capital deployment, and ROA improvement strategies.

Leadership & Organizational Development

  • Recruit, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of analysts, modelers, and risk professionals.

  • Establish clear performance expectations, cultural standards, and development plans.

General Responsibilities

  • Fulfill additional tasks as assigned by executive leadership.

  • Adhere to company policies, values, and ethical standards.

  • Maintain consistent attendance to support operational needs.

This role provides leadership through planning, prioritization, team oversight, performance evaluation, and strategic direction for assigned staff.

Requirements:

 

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Economics, Data Analytics, or a related field.

  • 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in consumer credit and risk management, ideally within subprime or specialty finance.

  • Proven expertise in credit risk modeling (PD, LGD, EAD), statistical analysis, and data-driven decisioning.

  • Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements related to consumer lending and data privacy.

  • Experience designing and implementing credit policies, risk frameworks, and automation strategies.

  • Background in CECL modeling, securitization reporting, and partnering with FP&A teams.

  • Ability to interpret complex legal, financial, and analytical documents.

  • Strong communication skills for presenting to executive teams, stakeholders, and external audiences.

  • Advanced mathematical and statistical reasoning abilities.


  • Work Environment & Physical Requirements

  • Primarily office-based with light physical activity.

  • Frequent sitting and computer use.

  • Occasional standing, walking, bending, and lifting up to 10 lbs.

  • Standard business-hour schedule with flexibility as needed based on business requirements.

  • Moderate travel up to 30%, including overnight trips.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and capable of learning internal software systems.
