Our challenge
We are seeking a highly skilled KDB Developer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in developing and maintaining high-performance time-series data applications using KDB+ and q language. Candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and supporting data solutions that drive real-time analytics and decision-making.
Additional Information*
The base salary for this position will vary based on geography and other factors. In accordance with law, the base salary for this role if filled within New York, NY is $140k - $160k/year & benefits (see below).

The Role
Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain efficient kdb+ databases and q code for high-frequency trading, analytics, and data storage.
- Collaborate with quantitative analysts, traders, and other stakeholders to understand data requirements.
- Optimize and tune database performance for large-scale time-series data.
- Design and implement data pipelines, data models, and algorithms.
- Perform troubleshooting, debugging, and resolving performance issues.
- Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code.
- Assist in deployment, testing, and integration of kdb+ solutions.
- Stay updated with industry best practices, tools, and trends related to kdb+ development.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a kdb+ developer, with hands-on expertise in q programming.
- Strong understanding of time-series data, financial markets, or trading systems is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with database design, data modeling, and data warehousing.
- Experience with Linux/Unix environments.
- Proficiency in optimizing and tuning kdb+ performance.
- Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills.
- Experience with Python, C++, or other programming languages.
- Knowledge of financial products, trading systems, or market data infrastructure.
- Previous experience in Agile/Scrum environments.
