Job Title : Rapid 7 product expert Remote
Position: Contract
Overview
We are seeking a skilled Rapid7 Product Expert to lead the deployment, administration, and optimization of Rapid7 s security suite, including InsightVM, Nexpose, InsightIDR, AppSpider, InsightAppSec, and Metasploit. This role requires hands-on expertise in vulnerability management, SIEM, SOAR, and threat detection to strengthen the organization s overall security posture.
Key Responsibilities
- Deploy, configure, and administer Rapid7 security products (InsightVM, Nexpose, InsightIDR, AppSpider, InsightAppSec, Metasploit).
- Manage end-to-end vulnerability management lifecycle, including scanning, assessment, prioritization, and remediation tracking.
- Design and implement security monitoring, alerting, and automation workflows using Rapid7 SIEM & SOAR tools.
- Conduct penetration testing and validate remediation effectiveness through Rapid7 Metasploit and AppSec tools.
- Develop and maintain dashboards, reports, and metrics for leadership and compliance requirements.
- Partner with IT, Risk, and Security teams to ensure effective incident response and threat detection.
- Provide subject matter expertise for integrations between Rapid7 products and enterprise systems (Active Directory, cloud platforms, ticketing systems).
- Stay current with emerging vulnerabilities, threat intelligence, and Rapid7 product updates.
- Deliver user training, awareness, and technical documentation to stakeholders.
Required Qualifications
- Proven hands-on experience with Rapid7 products (InsightVM, Nexpose, InsightIDR, AppSpider/InsightAppSec, Metasploit).
- Strong background in vulnerability management, SIEM/SOAR, and incident response.
- Knowledge of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, routing, firewalls).
- Familiarity with common operating systems (Windows, Linux, macOS) and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform).
- Scripting knowledge in PowerShell, Python, or Bash for automation.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience integrating Rapid7 products with enterprise tools (ServiceNow, Splunk, ticketing systems, etc.).
- Certifications such as Rapid7 Certified Administrator, CISSP, CEH, Security+, or equivalent.
- Prior experience working in an ITIL-based environment (Incident, Problem, Change management).
