OverviewWe are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Desktop Support Technician to join our IT team. This role is ideal for someone passionate about technology, eager to learn, and ready to build a strong foundation in IT support. You will work closely with experienced IT specialists to provide hardware and software support for both office and field environments.
Key Responsibilities- Hardware and Software Support
- Troubleshoot and repair desktops, laptops, ruggedized tablets (Windows-based Zebra devices), printers, and mobile devices.
- Perform device imaging, configuration, and deployment following established procedures.
- Diagnose connectivity issues and assist with wireless signal troubleshooting in the field.
- Field Support
- Provide on-site support for ruggedized tablets used in operational environments.
- Occasionally climb open staircases up to 75-125 feet to service devices on cranes.
- Drive company vehicles within port facilities to identify and resolve connectivity issues.
- Office Support
- Assist with workstation setup, email administration, password resets, printer troubleshooting, and iPhone deployment for office staff.
- Maintain accurate documentation of troubleshooting steps and resolutions.
- Customer Service
- Deliver exceptional support to end users, ensuring timely and professional resolution of issues.
- Communicate effectively with staff and follow up on open tickets to maintain high satisfaction levels.
Qualifications- Basic experience with hardware/software troubleshooting (professional, academic, or personal projects).
- Strong customer service skills from any industry.
- Ability and willingness to work flexible schedules, including occasional weekends or odd shifts.
- Comfortable with physical tasks such as climbing stairs and working in outdoor environments.
- Valid driver's license required for on-site troubleshooting.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Mount Pleasant, SC.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.00 - $30.00/hr.
