JOB TITLE: 6-12 month contract, potential to extend or convert LOCATION DETAILS: Software Engineer Senior SQL Developer Location: Plano, TX (Hybrid - 4 days onsite required) About the RoleWe are looking for a Senior SQL Engineer to lead the design and implementation of SQL-based solutions powering our critical applications and workflows. This role goes beyond writing SQL code - it's about defining standards, mentoring peers, owning architecture, and enabling productivity through AI, CI/CD, and automation. ResponsibilitiesArchitect, develop, and optimize SQL Server solutions including stored procedures, ETL packages (SSIS), and schema designs. Lead performance tuning, root cause analysis, and system-level SQL improvements. Collaborate across business, QA, and infrastructure teams to define requirements and deliver end-to-end solutions. Drive the adoption of CI/CD pipelines for SQL deployments using GitLab or similar tools. Use VS Code, SSMS, and Visual Studio for scalable development and debugging. Enforce Git workflows (e.g., feature branching, pull requests) and conduct peer code reviews. Serve as a mentor to junior engineers and promote documentation best practices. Champion the use of AI-assisted tooling (e.g., Copilot, ChatGPT) to drive efficiency, automation, and quality in development. Qualifications5-8+ years of experience with SQL Server, T-SQL, SSIS, and stored procedure development. Proven expertise in performance tuning and data modeling. Strong proficiency with VS Code, SSMS, Visual Studio, Git/GitLab, and Agile delivery. Experience leading delivery of large-scale SQL/ETL solutions from requirements to deployment. Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, unit testing frameworks (e.g., tSQLt), and AI-driven coding tools. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related discipline. Excellent communication, leadership, and mentoring abilities.
