Role Overview

We are seeking a Lead Technical Automation Tester with a strong 50/50 mix of ETL/Data testing and Application Automation. This is a hands-on role requiring deep technical expertise in Playwright automation, ETL validation, and SQL, along with the ability to lead QA efforts and collaborate closely with engineering and business teams.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead QA strategy, planning, and execution across data and application testing initiatives.

  • Perform ETL and data warehouse testing, including source-to-target validation, reconciliation, and data quality checks.

  • Write and optimize complex SQL queries for backend and ETL validation.

  • Design, develop, and maintain Playwright-based automation frameworks for UI and API testing.

  • Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, etc.).

  • Collaborate with developers, BAs, data engineers, and business stakeholders to ensure high-quality releases.

  • Mentor and guide QA engineers on automation best practices and testing standards.


Must-Have Skills

  • ETL / Data Testing (50%)

    • Strong hands-on experience with ETL testing and data validation

    • Experience with tools such as Informatica, Talend, ADF, Snowflake, or Data Lakes

    • Advanced SQL skills for data reconciliation and transformation validation

  • Application Automation (50%)

    • Strong hands-on experience with Playwright (UI & API automation)

    • Experience building automation frameworks from scratch

    • CI/CD integration experience

  • Leadership & Communication

    • Excellent communication skills

    • Ability to lead QA efforts and work with cross-functional teams


Nice to Have

  • Cloud platforms (AWS / Azure / Google Cloud Platform)

  • Data warehouse concepts (Star/Snowflake schema)

  • Agile/Scrum experience
