Network / System Engineer

Genesis10 is currently seeking a Network/System Engineer with our client in the financial industry located in Charlotte, NC, Pennington, NJ, and Plano, TX. This is a 12+ month contract position.

Responsibilities:

• Build, configure, install and validate software
• Set up test environments; test environments change with strict time restrictions for every release and often several times during the life of a release cycle
• Research and resolve issues using acquired knowledge and skills or by liaising with internal client and/or external sources (internet, etc.), often under pressure and strict time frames
• Confer with internal and/or external departments to resolve issues
• Refer problems outside the scope of ability/responsibility to higher level Manager or related IT departments
• Analyze user issues to determine possible problem sources; sources can include custom software issues, WAN/LAN issues, server/hardware issues, configuration issues, etc.
• Participate in systems or hardware related projects as assigned by the Environments Manager
• Ensure that Corporate standards are adhered to in all aspects of software configuration/installation
• Create or update documentation
• Conduct or attend meetings
• Perform other work-related duties as assigned

Requirements:

• Ability to troubleshoot complex .NET or Java-based application issues in a multi-tier development environment

Desired skills:

• 5 or more years of Windows Middleware Engineering experience
• DEVOPS specialist experience
• Other products: BMC Remedy, BMC Bladelogic Server Automation
• Understanding of Network infrastructure (HTTP/S, TCP/IP, TLS, DNS, Load-balancers, firewalls, proxies, B2B links)
• Excellent oral and written communication skills and strong attention to detail

Pay Range: $58.31-$66.31
