Overview:
TalentFish is casting a line for a Manual QA Test Engineer! This is a remote Direct Hire role with our premier global client. Candidates must reside near Boston MA, New York NY, Washington DC or Atlanta GA metro areas.
This role is for a dedicated Manual QA Tester. It is strictly manual candidates with a focus on or preference for automation will not be considered.
The Manual Quality Assurance Engineer will be responsible to lead the development of test approaches, estimates and plans for complex integrated systems. You will drive successful test execution and completion in support of our client s key projects.
What You Will Do
- Provide input on functional requirements and advise on design and configuration of client software applications.
- Ensure delivery of testable and traceable requirements and effectively apply appropriate testing techniques to ensure comprehensive end-to-end black box testing.
- Lead user story and test case development and test execution.
- Design, develop, document and maintain test artifacts for functional, integration, system, and acceptance testing.
- Create test plans outlining test approach and risk mitigation.
- Prepare and may oversee the preparation of test data and readiness of test environment prior to test execution.
- Analyze test results to identify defects, errors and configuration issues, and advise on the severity of issues.
- Perform defect triage and assess potential impact and resolution, providing enough details for the development team to fix issues.
- Publish and communicate effective test metrics which enable effective decision making around quality.
- Make recommendations regarding delivery quality and influences the business in implementation decisions.
- Coordinate with QA team members on-site, off-site and offshore.
- Collaborate successfully with project team leads and members of IT in relation to testing strategy and requirements.
What You Will Bring (Qualifications)
- Must have primary and recent experience in Manual Quality Assurance Testing. This is not an automation or hybrid QA role.
- 5+ years of Manual QA experience supporting large, critical business applications.
- 5+ years QA experience with Test and Issue Management Tools.
- Strong knowledge of testing methodologies and techniques.
- Experience working within Agile & Waterfall environments.
- Experience testing data migration, ensuring that the migrated data is accurate, complete, and consistent with the source system.
- Strong SQL development skills.
- Experienced in creation and execution of SQL queries involving multiple tables, join statements and stored procedures.
- API Testing Methods (Post, Put, Get, Delete).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Able to communicate technical concepts effectively to non-technical audiences.
- Excellent judgment, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Must be highly effective within a collaborative environment.
- Experience leading teams of peers and partners.
Proficiency Requirements
- Quality Assurance best practices.
- Test Case / Script Design and Implementation.
- Microsoft Suite and Legal industry software applications is highly preferred.
- Business Applications (Microsoft Suite, including Visio, Project, etc.).
- Exhibits strong communication and organizational skills.
- Highly collaborative, excellent negotiation, critical thinking, and leadership skills as well as exceptional customer service and collaboration abilities.
- Solid understanding of testing interactive dashboards and reports for data visualization and analysis such as Power BI.
What You Will Get - Compensation and Employment
This role requires authorization to work in the U.S. without current or future visa sponsorship.
The expected salary range for this position is $84,000 - $125,000 per year, depending on experience, qualifications and location. This role qualifies for opportunity to earn bonuses based on individual contribution and firm profitability.
