Job Title: Senior Cloud Engineer
Location: Hybrid in Raleigh, NC, Sterling, VA or Jersey City, NJ
Employment Type: 12-month renewable contract (W2 only)

Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Senior Cloud Engineer with strong expertise in designing, implementing, and managing cloud infrastructure across AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform platforms. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in automation, CI/CD pipelines, containerization, and cloud-native security best practices.
You will collaborate with DevOps, Security, and Application teams to ensure highly available, scalable, and secure cloud environments supporting enterprise applications.
Responsibilities:
- Design, deploy, and manage scalable, secure, and reliable cloud infrastructure solutions.
- Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform, CloudFormation, or ARM templates.
- Manage CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or Azure DevOps.
- Build and manage containerized applications using Docker and Kubernetes (EKS/AKS/GKE).
- Monitor and optimize cloud resources for performance, cost, and security.
- Integrate cloud-native tools for observability, monitoring, and alerting (CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana, etc.).
- Ensure compliance with security standards and best practices across environments.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot, automate, and improve deployment processes.
- Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior engineers.
Required Skills & Experience:
- 10+ years of IT experience with at least 8+ years in cloud engineering.
- Strong expertise in AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform cloud platforms (certifications preferred).
- Proficiency in Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation for automation and IaC.
- Experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI/CD, or Azure DevOps).
- Strong hands-on experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, and container orchestration.
- Proficiency in scripting languages: Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
- Familiarity with networking, load balancers, VPNs, and firewalls in cloud environments.
- Experience with logging, monitoring, and alerting tools (Datadog, Splunk, CloudWatch, etc.).
- Knowledge of security best practices, identity management, and cloud governance.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and documentation skills.
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect / DevOps Engineer / SysOps Administrator or equivalent Azure/Google Cloud Platform certification.
- Experience in hybrid cloud environments and multi-cloud strategy.
- Exposure to microservices architecture and serverless technologies (Lambda, Functions).
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum environments and DevSecOps principles.
Education:
- Bachelor s or Master s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
