responsibilities:
- Securely manage and optimize core infrastructure components, including all aspects of the Windows Server ecosystem, virtual environments (VMware), and enterprise storage solutions (SAN/NAS).
- Design, implement, and maintain advanced network security and segmentation strategies, specifically ensuring secure separation between Information Technology (IT) and Operational Technology (OT) systems using firewalls, Layer 3 switches, and VPN technologies.
- Oversee all facets of identity and access management within a hybrid cloud environment, leveraging Active Directory/Entra ID, Group Policy, and modern security controls like Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) and conditional access.
- Serve as a top-tier technical escalation point (Tier 3) for deep-level troubleshooting of complex hardware, operating system, network connectivity, and infrastructure-related application performance issues.
- Drive modernization and lifecycle management projects, such as major server upgrades, cloud workload migrations (on-premises to Azure), and the adoption of modern endpoint management tools like Intune/MDM.
qualifications:
Extensive professional experience (5-10 years) administering diverse enterprise systems, networks, and IT security in a high-availability, mission-critical setting.
Demonstrated expertise in maintaining and securing OT environments such as SCADA, ICS, or historian systems, and practical knowledge of applying security frameworks (like NIST or CIS) to critical infrastructure.
Advanced proficiency in key technologies including hybrid Active Directory/Entra ID, Microsoft 365 services (Exchange, Teams, SharePoint), enterprise firewalls (e.g., Fortinet), and robust data backup/disaster recovery administration.
Proven history of successfully executing complex technical projects, such as infrastructure refreshes, major server/system migrations, and rollouts of new security tools or network architecture changes.
Exceptional troubleshooting abilities across entire IT stacks, coupled with strong written communication skills for creating comprehensive documentation, diagrams, and operational runbooks.
