What you do:

As the Enterprise Business Architect (EBA), you will play a critical role in shaping the strategic business and technology direction for our Life and Annuity (L&A) business. This position bridges business strategy and technology execution-ensuring alignment across operating models, capabilities, and systems that support the policy administration, new business, and claims value streams.

You will partner with senior business and IT leaders to define future-state business architectures, identify modernization opportunities, and guide transformation programs that enable agility, scalability, and customer-centric outcomes.

Strategic Alignment & Planning
  • Partner with business and IT executives to translate strategic goals into target business architectures and capability roadmaps
  • Define and maintain the enterprise business capability model for the L&A value chain (new business, underwriting, policy administration, billing, claims, and customer servicing)
  • Align business capabilities with enterprise data, applications, and technology domains
  • Support the definition of business cases and investment prioritization by providing architectural insights

Architecture Design & Governance
  • Lead development of current- and target-state business architectures that support modernization and transformation efforts, including cloud migration, digital servicing, and AI/automation initiatives
  • Ensure consistency and reuse across programs and business lines through architectural principles, standards, and framework
  • Partner with solution and domain architects to ensure technology designs align to business capabilities and desired outcomes
  • Provide architecture governance oversight during project execution to ensure adherence to enterprise strategy

Process & Capability Optimization
  • Analyze and document business processes and information flows across new business, policy administration, and claims functions
  • Identify opportunities for process simplification, digitization, and improved integration across platforms and third-party systems
  • Champion enterprise platforms and reusable business services to drive efficiency and reduce redundancy

Stakeholder Collaboration & Communication
  • Facilitate cross-functional workshops with business leaders, architects, and delivery teams to co-create architecture artifacts and future-state visions
  • Communicate complex architecture concepts in clear, business-relevant terms to diverse audiences
  • Act as a trusted advisor to business leaders, influencing decision-making with a strategic, enterprise-wide perspective
  • Utilization of artificial intelligence tools and resources (e.g. generative AI)

What you bring:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 10+ years of experience in Life and Annuity insurance, including deep knowledge of policy administration, new business, underwriting, and claims processes.
  • 5+ years of experience in enterprise or business architecture, preferably in a large insurance or financial services organization.
  • Proven experience developing business capability models, operating models, and transformation roadmaps.
  • Strong understanding of financial services processes and technologies, including core insurance systems, digital platforms, risk management, compliance, and security.
  • Experience leading digital and operational transformation in insurance or financial services, including cloud adoption and leveraging AI/InsurTech to enhance operations and customer experience.
  • Understanding of enterprise data architecture, data governance, and analytics enablement.
  • Experience with enterprise architecture modeling tools, such as BOC ADOIT.
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • You must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without requiring immigration sponsorship now or in the future. This includes holders of H-1B, , L-1, L-2, TN, OPT, CPT, and other nonimmigrant visas.
