Job Overview
The System Design Engineer's role is to design, analyze, validate and deploy hardware, software, and/or other Technology/Network solutions to maintain, enhance, and evolve the T-Mobile Network and Systems. Specific tasks may include the development and maintenance of designs for the network, applications, data centers, connectivity, validation systems, monitoring systems, reporting systems and engineering tools with an ability to automate repeatable tasks by using network knowledge and computing automation skills. The priority of these designs is to find creative solutions to maximize reliability, performance, and efficiency while limiting costs and time to market. Responsibilities include the autonomy to evaluate and translate requirements into designs, evaluate design benefits and tradeoffs, validate design compliance, support deployment of the design to ensure the requirements were met and creation and management of automation systems to ensure changes enhance performance. Development of tools may be required in order to most efficiently solve technical or business challenges including technology evolution, capacity management, performance optimization and/or quality validation. Technical documentation, a deep understanding of processes and presentation skills are required in order to convey design benefits to a wide range of audiences. Automation skills are needed to automate repeated tasks. This role works on technical assignments that are focused on evolving technologies and capabilities. The position functions largely independent of supervision.

Base Pay Range: $74,400 - $134,100
Corporate Bonus Target: 15%

Most Corporate employees are eligible for a year-end bonus based on company and/or individual performance and which is set at a percentage of the employee's eligible earnings in the prior year. Job Responsibilities:
- Innovation, Technical System Expertise and Engineering Services:
Presents new ideas which improve an existing system/process/service. Question and express new perspectives based on independent study of the industry trends and benefits. Review current company processes, highlight questions, and explore process refinement.
Expected to independently complete appropriate network designs by leveraging an understanding system protocols, how systems operate, data flows, building blocks, interactions, dependencies, and tools required to complete design work. Independent study of current technology is expected.
Supports engineering projects by active contribution to the application of systems engineering techniques; conducting tests and inspections for analysis purposes; preparing reports and calculations. Contributes to procedures and processes to validate and enhance and optimize network. Performs validation tests and inspection techniques and effectively documents results.
Create and maintain automation systems that will execute repetative tasks. Manage automation and modifies to expand automation and cover novel technologies. - Technical Writing: Maintains knowledge of existing technology documents. Writes basic documentation on how technology works. Contributes clear documentation on systems used. Able to document systems designs and business requirements. Provides technical data for incorporation into internal presentations.
- Technical Leadership: Collaborates with technical teams and utilizes system expertise to deliver technical solutions. Continuously learns and can demonstrate a detailed understanding of new technologies to guide associate level engineers.
- Technology Strategy: Understands current technology that supports business goals.
- Also responsible for other Duties/Projects as assigned by business management as needed.
Education and Work Experience:
- 2-4 years Technical engineering experience (Required)
