Vaco is actively seeking a Senior Java Engineer / Analyst to support our client’s continued growth in Memphis.  This is a unique opportunity to join a highly respected and rapidly growing organization that is a proven leader in their field.


Position Overview

This role with design, develop, and maintain complex systems supporting a multitude of key business operations and related integrations.

The ideal candidate will possess hands-on experience with Angular and Java / Spring, strong communication skills, and a passion for mentorship and collaboration.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Translate complex requirements and data models into robust application architectures.
  • Conduct design and code reviews to ensure adherence to SOA standards and best practices.
  • Track, troubleshoot, and resolve software defects, including production issues of medium to high complexity.
  • Support communications with Business Analysts, technology partners, and business stakeholders to clarify requirements and provide feedback on solution design and implementation strategies.
  • Oversee EDI / API intake and translation processes and lead key integration projects with strategic partners.
  • Collaborate with U.S. and offshore development teams (~20 developers) on integration and modernization efforts.
  • Document development and implementation processes in compliance with company standards.
  • Leverage AI tools where applicable to accelerate development and interpret legacy code.

Skillsets & Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of professional experience in application development, preferably within Angular and Java / Spring.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and verbal/written communication skills.
  • Experience with distributed systems, messaging, and deploying to OpenShift (OCP) and Kafka environments.
  • Knowledge of databases and persistence frameworks, including PostgreSQL and JPA.
  • Experience with web services and SOA, including WSDL, XML, XSLT, XQuery.
  • Familiarity with application servers and frameworks such as JBoss, Spring, Hibernate, CXF, or Vaadin.
  • Experience with UNIX/Linux environments and shell scripting.
  • Unit testing, system-level and integration testing, and production support experience.
  • Agile/Scrum development experience and familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, code reviews, and design reviews.
  • Cloud/elastic computing experience across virtualized environments is a plus.

  • Target Compensation Range: $100k – 120k, based on skills and experience
