Software Engineer II - Security for AI

As a Software Engineer in Microsoft Security AI, you will play a vital role in designing and maintaining scalable, resilient infrastructure that supports security automation and service reliability. Your work will focus on building systems that enable seamless deployment, secure execution environments, and efficient service orchestration for AI-powered security solutions. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure high-performance computing environments, optimize workflows, and drive innovation in secure computing.

Responsibilities:

• Design and build scalable infrastructure to support security automation, service reliability, and AI-driven threat protection.
• Develop secure execution environments that ensure safe handling of workloads, including malware analysis and threat intelligence.
• Build CI/CD pipelines to streamline deployment, improve system efficiency, and enhance automation.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate security best practices into infrastructure and service orchestration.
• Drive innovation in secure computing by researching and implementing new technologies to enhance security and performance.

Qualifications:

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 2+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
  • OR equivalent experience.
• 1+ years of experience designing, building, and operating scalable, highly available cloud services or distributed systems on platforms such as Azure, AWS, Google Cloud Platform, or comparable cloud environments, with production ownership and CI/CD pipeline integration.
• 1+ years of experience programming in modern back-end languages such as C#, Java, Go, or Python.
• Proficiency in building scalable, resilient infrastructure to support security automation and service reliability.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines to streamline deployment, enhance automation, and optimize workflow efficiency.

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:

Microsoft Cloud Background Check:

• This position will be required to pass the Microsoft background and Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
• Understanding of secure execution environments for safe workload handling, including potential exposure to malware analysis.

Preferred Qualifications:

• At least 1 year of experience as a Software Engineer with a strong foundation in system design and development.

Software Engineering IC3 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $100,600 - $199,000 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $131,400 - $215,400 per year.
