Job Details

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Google BigQuery Consultant to support our data warehousing, data analytics, and cloud data transformation initiatives. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in Google Cloud Platform (Google Cloud Platform) with a focus on BigQuery, as well as strong experience in SQL, data modeling, and ETL processes.

This role will work closely with data engineers, analysts, and business stakeholders to optimize, manage, and scale our BigQuery-based data infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, and manage scalable data solutions using Google BigQuery.

  • Optimize BigQuery performance and cost by reviewing query structures and table partitioning/clustering.

  • Develop and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines using Cloud Dataflow, Apache Beam, Cloud Functions, or third-party tools (e.g., Fivetran, Airflow).

  • Collaborate with data engineering and analytics teams to understand data needs and deliver performant, reusable queries and views.

  • Assist in migrating data from legacy systems to BigQuery.

  • Implement data security, governance, and access controls within Google Cloud Platform and BigQuery.

  • Provide guidance and best practices around data modeling, query optimization, and cloud cost management.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve data integrity, latency, and reliability issues.

Required Qualifications:

  • Proven experience working with Google BigQuery in a production environment.

  • Strong knowledge of SQL and experience with complex queries and data transformations.

  • Experience with Google Cloud Platform services including Cloud Storage, Dataflow, Pub/Sub, Composer (Airflow), etc.

  • Knowledge of data modeling techniques (star/snowflake schema, denormalization).

  • Experience with ETL/ELT pipeline development.

  • Familiarity with Python or Java for scripting data processes.

  • Solid understanding of data warehousing concepts and analytics use cases.

  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
