Job Description
The U-2 Software & Avionics IPT Manager is responsible for managing cost, schedule, and technical delivery of multiple development & sustainment efforts with a team distributed across multiple sites. Provide technical leadership for the Avionics and Software Engineering team with field operations/troubleshooting support, avionics and pilot training sub-systems, avionics supplier oversight, pilot training requirements, architecture, design, development, testing, and functional/performance analysis.
Candidate will provide project planning and status communications with Air Force and LM U-2 Program Leadership, coordinate with other U-2 Engineering, Supply Chain, Global Sustainment, and Business Management personnel. Responsibility will also include overseeing the definition and preparation of Avionics specific proposals and managing/reporting on related budget and schedules in work.
Functional responsibility for software engineering team.
Travel up to 20% required.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering discipline with a minimum of 7 years of relevant experience
Avionics communication, navigation, auto pilot, air data, processing, and displays subsystems technical knowledge
Technical/Development/Integration Experience
Experience defining/tracking tasks, schedule, and budget
Avionics architecture experience with Mil-Std-1553 and Ethernet interfaces
Experience working with multiple Integrated Product Teams within a program
Program/Project Management experience
Agile team management experience
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Must have a current Secret Clearance with the ability to obtain Top Secret Clearance
Desired skills
U-2 program experience
Experience with Avionics Hardware and Software Development
Strong organizational, planning and time management skills
Leadership experience working with, or for senior levels of Department of Defense
Strong presentation skills and ability to address complex matters/solutions with senior leaders
Experience leading suppliers through the development process
Ability to manage, coach, train, and motivate teams
General knowledge of C/C++ and Ada software languages

For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer. Benefits offered: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Short-Term Disability, Long-Term Disability, 401(k) match, Flexible Spending Accounts, EAP, Education Assistance, Parental Leave, Paid time off, and Holidays.
