Job Details

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Building Automation Controls Engineer to design, implement, and maintain advanced building automation systems (BAS) that optimize building performance. This role involves working with HVAC, lighting, energy management, and other integrated systems to enhance efficiency and reliability.

Responsibilities:
  • Design, program, and implement building automation systems, including HVAC, lighting, and energy management.
  • Develop control strategies and sequences of operation for system optimization.
  • Perform system integration between various building systems and devices.
  • Conduct site surveys and assessments to understand customer needs and system requirements.
  • Provide site-specific training for owners and operators on installed mechanical systems.
  • Troubleshoot, commission, and provide technical support for BAS installations.
  • Collaborate with project teams to ensure timely and successful project execution.
  • Create and maintain system documentation, including diagrams, software configurations, and user manuals.
  • Monitor system performance and identify opportunities for improvements.
  • Diagnose defects in systems, components, and devices.
  • Perform commissioning and Test & Balance measurements.
  • Assist with project turnover to service providers.
  • Work from floor plans, blueprints, specifications, and schematics.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Strong understanding of HVAC systems, controls, and electrical systems.
  • Experience with BAS platforms such as Tridium Niagara, Siemens, Johnson Controls, Honeywell, or similar.
  • Knowledge of networking protocols (e.g., BACnet, Modbus, LonWorks, TCP/IP).
  • Proficiency in programming languages used in automation (e.g., Java, Python, or system-specific languages).
  • Familiarity with schematics, construction drawings, and specifications.
  • Understanding of construction site safety requirements.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with a strong focus on Excel.
