VP of Core Services (Symitar)

This is a hybrid position. Must live within commutable distance to Grand Rapids, MI. Relocation assistance is provided if needed. You will be over the Symitar developers and Administrators.

The Vice President of Core Services is responsible for leading the daily operations, administration, and strategic direction of the Symitar Core system and integrated third-party applications. This role ensures system reliability, security, and efficiency in a hosted on-premises environment while managing a team of programmers and application support analysts. The Vice President of Core Services collaborates with leadership to align technology initiatives with business objectives, oversees system upgrades and implementations, and drives process improvements to optimize service delivery.

Core System & Application Management:

Lead daily operations, maintenance, and security of the Symitar Core system and third party

applications. Ensure high availability, performance, and reliability of core banking systems in a

hosted on-prem environment. Oversee system administration, troubleshooting, and expert-level issue resolution.

System Upgrades & Implementations:

Coordinate with departments to implement new software solutions, including loan

origination and account opening systems. Manage system upgrades, patches, and integrations while minimizing downtime and business impact. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.

Strategic Planning & Process Improvement:

Work closely with leadership to prioritize and execute technology initiatives that align

with business goals. Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend cost-effective enhancements to core and third-party systems. Develop and enforce policies, procedures, and security standards for system operations.

Manage, mentor, and provide training to programmers and application support

analysts. Establish clear goals, performance metrics, and professional development plans for the

team. Foster a collaborative and innovative team culture focused on operational excellence.
